Miklós Rózsa’s music for the 1961 Hollywood epic El Cid is widely regarded as one of the greatest film scores of all time, a masterpiece of the cine-musical art
This world premiere recording is one of the largest projects ever undertaken to restore a complete score and totals over 140 minutes of music including themes omitted from the film
The 2CD set utilises 91 musicians and a large choir, no expense has been spared to re-create this astounding piece of music and the CD booklet includes notes from director Martin Scorsese (a massive fan) and Rózsa’s daughter Juliet
