For a number of years Alex has assisted composer Simon Boswell on numerous movies including Cousin Bette, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Photographing Fairies, This Year's Love and Born Romantic. Alex's first major film commission was to score the Oscar-winning feature documentary One Day in September, directed by Kevin Macdonald. His music received wide critical acclaim, being described as "exceptional" by The Guardian newspaper. His versatility has led to a busy schedule scoring a wide variety of projects including feature films such as The Parole Officer, Late Night Shopping, Trauma, Dear Frankie and the Last King Of Scotland.
